Eco-Camp in Georgia

In the period of July 21-30, ten schoolchildren from Archis community, Tavush marz, Teghut community, Lori marz and “Mkhitar Sebastatsi” educational complex, Yerevan participated in eco-camp in the “Green Center” in Bulachauri, Georgia. The eco-camp was also attended by schoolchildren from Georgia and Azerbaijan. During the ten days the children participated in lectures on the following topics: climate change, global warming, agriculture, biodiversity. The eco-camp participants traveled to the Kazbek-Stepanmindza: Gargetis church on the Ialbuzi Mountain. On the way back in Mleta village which was suffered by the landslip and flood several years ago an open-air lecture on GPS system was delivered. After, at the eco-camp watched “Tun” (house) film and discussed it. Special day was named for each group to present national dance, songs and costumes. Ten days passed like ten hours. The eco-camp participants returned to Armenia with big impressions and stock of knowledge, which we hope will put into practice in their communities.
The eco-camp was organized in the scope of the EU-funded “Enhancing Local Capacity and Regional Cooperation for CCA and Biodiversity Conservation in Georgia and South Caucasus” project, which is implemented by Green Lane NGO, Caucasus Environmental NGO Network (CENN) and Mercy Corps.
