Training the Trainers on Sustainable Management of Natural Pastures


On August 12-15 2014, as part of the “Train the Trainers” Advisory Project, Training on Sustainable Management of Natural Pastures was held in “Best Western Aghveran” hotel, village of Arzaqan, Kotayk province (marz) of Armenia. The event, hosted by “Green Lane” Agriculture Assistance NGO, has been attended by the staff of eight Agriculture Support Regional (Marz) Centers involved in the project (except for Ararat and Armavir provinces) as well as representatives of the Agriculture Support Republican Center. Also, the Deputy Director of the Agricultural Project Implementation Unit (APIU) of the Ministry of Agriculture of Armenia Mr. Armen Vanyan, Mr. David Lugg, Agricultural Specialist of the World Bank, and Mr. Arshaluys Hayrapetyan, Acting Director of the Agriculture Support Republican Center joined the event.
“Train the Trainers” Advisory Project is being implemented within the framework of the Community Agriculture Resource Management and Competitiveness Project (CARMAC) with funding coming from the Global Environment Fund (GEF). This advisory project mostly aims to assist the staff of the agricultural consultancy centers (Agriculture Support Centers) under the Ministry of Agriculture in improving knowledge and skills necessary for training farmers in sustainable pasture management.
